Dr. David J. Elliott is Full Professor of Music and Music Education at NYU Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development (USA). Since his groundbreaking book Music Matters: a New Philosophy of Music Education (1995) he belongs to the leading scholars in the field of music education. In the focus of Music Matters #1 and the Praxial Philosophy of Music Education is a multidimensional concept of music and musical works, a multidimensional concept of musical understanding, a multidimensional concept of music’s values in human life and a multiple approach to achieving these values.
