iCal calendarDuring Student and Short Film Festival Sleepwalkers creative Crossmedia Workshop will take place on 22nd November at 13.00-18.00.
The workshop will be held in Nova’s building (Narva Rdt 27), room N-207.
Crossmedia goes to Sleepwalkers ! is a 5-hour intensive workshop, which is mainly aimed at students from fields such as film, design, media, advertisement and marketing or journalism. The aim of the workshop is to show how to notice the opportunities of media, how to use that knowledge and hence benefit from crossmedia.
The workshop focuses on the issue of how to use crossmedia in a festival framework. The introduction to the workshop will be given by the lecturer Alessandro Nanì who will be showing the best examples of crossmedia solutions on the fields of festival and film. Dagmar Mäe and Hannes Sarv who are the graduates of last year’s Crossmedia Production MA programme at the Baltic Media and Film School are talking about their transmedia final projects. Louis Savy will give a brief lecture on crossmedia from the point of view of a London Sci-Fi Film Festival.
By the end of the workshop participators create their own crossmedia projects, which give them a chance to have a hands-on experience on how to create crossmedia solutions.

Alessandro Nanì – After having studied photography at the London College of Printing (currently London College of Communication) Alessandro worked for several years as a commercial photographer. In 2011 he enrolled in the Crossmedia Production MA course at BFM from which he graduated cum laude. In 2012 he co-founded Bloomingfern OÜ, the first Estonian transmedia production company. Alessandro currently teaches at both the Baltic Film and Media School and at Tartu University.
Dagmar Mäe – Dagmar is a producer in Allfilm film production company. This autumn she graduated from the Baltic Film and Media School Crossmedia Production MA programme. Her final project “Nullpunkt” won the HBO award at the Filmteractive festival in Poland.
Hannes Sarv – Hannes has studied journalism in Tartu University and finished his MA degree in Crossmedia Production in Baltic Media and Film School this autumn. He is a crossmedia producer for a transmedia project Apothecary Melchior.
Louis Savy – Louis Savy is the Festival Director of SCI-FI-LONDON (the Annual International Festival of Science Fiction and Fantastic Film) which he launched 12 years ago. He has been the organizer of several filmmaking events and projects involving thousands of people across the UK. He is an experienced lecturer on film festival marketing and practice, low/no budget science fiction filmmaking, delivering workshops to industry and student audiences internationally. Louis is a consultant to The Festivals Channel and works with Film London’s audience development team. He has also worked with many ohter film festivals and film exhibitors including The London Turkish Film Festival, Terracotta Film Festival, The London Festival of Architecture and ICON TLV. He has toured SCI-FI-LONDON in India and curated guest programmes in more than 20 countries. In 2012, Louis joined the Film Festival Academy as the Operations Director.
