"Estonian young people, much like those in other European countries, can be
grouped into five profiles of attitudes. Some are committed to Social
Justice, though this tends to be a relatively small group. Others are
supportive of conventional political activity, such as voting and party
membership (though the percentage of Estonian youth in this group is also
small relative to other countries). A very large proportion are
either indifferent or disaffected, while about 10 percent are truly
alienated from government and society. Estonian young people do tend to be
somewhat more positively oriented than those in Latvia, however, and
similar in some ways to those in Finland," says Prof Torney-Purta about the
lecture. In order to participate, please registrate at liisinoode@hot.ee
