Kino Eyes MA film "Roof Knocking" - Best Short Film at Cairo Film Festival

An Arabic Masters-level graduate film made in Estonia "Roof Knocking" won an award for Best Short Film at Cairo Film Festival.

An Arabic Masters-level graduate film made in Estonia "Roof Knocking" won the at the prestigeous Cairo International Film Festival.

The film shot at BFM's Film Studio in 2016 is set in war-ridden Palestine where a woman cooking for her family receives a phone call saying that her home will be bombed in ten minutes.

was made by a 6-person team in the Kino Eyes MA program as their graduate film. The director is Sina Salimi from Iran, producer Sergio Adrian Salazar Cavazos from Mexico, scriptwriter Lucas Abrah茫o from Brazil, cinematographer Francesco Crivaro from Italy, editor Ahmed Abdelrazek from Egypt and sound editor Indrek Soe from Estonia. Many film makers and students both from Estonia and abroad (among them BFM staff) helped in the making of the film.

Roof Knocking will be shown next in Jordan at the Karama Film Festival - the is where Sameera Asir, the star of the film, is from.

is a unique Film Masters program where studies take place in three universities and cultures during the two years of study. Students are trained in making short films and they also work on feature film projects.

The first Kino Eyes Film masters students began studies in the fall of 2015. Studies are divided info three, hosted by Tallinn University Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School,  Universidade de Lus贸fona (Portugal), and Edinburgh Napier University Screen Academy Scotland.

The program is accepting applications throughout December, it is financed by Erasmus +.
