The 3rd International Conference “The Changing Face of Music and Art Education. Communication and Processes.” (CFMAE14) organised by the   takes place in Tallinn University, 24-25 April, 2014.

The aim of CFMAE14 is to bring together educators, musicologists, art researchers as well as practicing musicians and artists in order to promote and generate new ideas about music, the arts and education. The main topic of the conference is “Communication and Processes”. In a very broad sense, the concept of communication can refer to the way we interact culturally and socially, musically, verbally/visually or embodied, which reveals and is created, reflected, and integrated through processes within music, the arts and different music and arts activities. The aim of the conference is to emphasize the importance of communication and processes in education and closely related fields and to generate further ideas as to how knowledge of the aspects of communication and processes can enhance the quality of our everyday praxis. .

With this conference the  celebrates its 10th anniversary of organizing . Since 2004, within an interval of five years, the big international conference CFME “The Changing Face of Music Education” took place (CFME04, CFME09), 2014 the name and concept is enlarged: “The Changing Face of Music and Art Education” (CFMAE14). In the years between the big conferences since 2007 nearly every year the Graduate Student Conferences for BA, MA and PhD students took place: “Music Education Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” (MEYTT2007, 2008, 2010) and “The Changing Face of Music and Art Education: Yesterday, Today, Tomorrow” (CFMAEYTT2011, 2012, 2013). Over the years the graduate student conferences developed  into bigger events themselves.

During the week before the conference several courses with international lecturers will take place: 7th Music Psychology Course (), 3rd Music Improvisation Course (), the eLearning Course (). Also a symposium focusing on  dedicated to the Music Educators Journal 100 and a symposium dedicated to  take place as well as the 4th Teacher Training Seminar ().
