Tallinn University rises in the reputable THE Rankings in the field of Education
TLU has improved its position in the field of Education in the Times Higher Education World University Rankings, now belonging to the top 301-400 universities in the world.

ast year, Tallinn University was ranked at 400+ in the Education category. Acting Rector Priit Reiska says that the improvement in rankings confirms the university鈥檚 level of professionalism in educational sciences and shows the results of research and teaching, which are carried out at the university.
鈥淓ducational sciences have always been a part of the identity of Tallinn University,鈥 says Reiska. 鈥淒ecades long teacher training and the traditions of educational sciences are not just merely part of our past, but certainly our strength in the present day,鈥 he added.
Vice-Rector for Research Katrin Niglas says that the newly published rankings bring joy, because the university is just about to finish two big research projects in the field of education. 鈥淭he rise in the Education subject rankings proves that the effectiveness of the university鈥檚 research efforts has improved,鈥 she said. Niglas added that the improved ranking position is also connected to the fact that the university is including more international scientists in general - therefore the number of academic staff rises and the scientific basis of teaching improves.
THE 2021 Subject Rankings include more than 1500 universities from 93 countries. The rankings are based on 13 carefully performance indicators that measure an institution鈥檚 performance across four areas: teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook.
Times Higher Education Rankings and QS World University Rankings are the two top ranking systems in the world. Tallinn University is on the 801-1000 position according to both systems, which means that TLU belongs to the top 5% of the world鈥檚 best universities.
