Tallinn Summer School Greets Participants from Across the World
The Tallinn Summer School, hosted for the 12th time by Tallinn University on 10-28 July will host over 250 participants from more than 50 countries. South Korea, Hong Kong, the United States, UK, and Russia are best represented.
The Tallinn Summer School, hosted for the 12th time by Tallinn University on 10-28 July will host over 250 participants from more than 50 countries. South Korea, Hong Kong, the United States, UK, and Russia are best represented.
One of the largest international projects of Tallinn University offers a chance to choose between 14 courses; the programme features language courses, creative workshops, and many lectures on humanities, social sciences and IT. The most popular are traditionally courses on Estonian, Russian and English languages, as well as short film, serious games, social entrepreneurship, and interaction design.
One of the best known international lecturers at the Summer School is the Australian writer Pere Salmon, who is currently residing in England. His latest book the Coffee Story was elected book of the year by the New Statesman. He will give a course on creative writing at the Summer School. David Edwards, a PhD student from University of Glasgow will give a public lecture on the current political issues in the UK.
In addition to courses, participants can take part in sportive workshops, and a cultural programme featuring tours of many museums of Tallinn, trips to Eastern and Southern Estonia, lectures on Estonian culture, and social events. The grand finale of the Summer School will be a trip to St. Petersburg and Moscow.
