The President of Estonia, Toomas Hendrik Ilves, will recognise several talented researchers of the state on 24 February, Independence Day. The order of the White Star is given to:
- psychologist, management consultant, and Professor Emeritus of Tallinn University, Mare Pork
- linguist and Professor of Applied Linguistics in Tallinn University, Krista Kerge
- folklorist, researcher of Estonian lore, sacred places and folk medicine, Senior Researcher in Tallinn University, Marju Kõivupuu
