Mila Schwartz's public lecture focuses on strategies to promote language learning for young people
On September 28, Mila Schwartz, a linguist at the Oranim Academic College of Education in Israel, will give a public lecture at Tallinn University.

young language learners " will take place on September 28 at 12-14 in
the Senate Hall of Tallinn University.

As a researcher, Mila Schwartz deals with topics that are
currently on the agenda in Estonia, for instanse,
the transition of Russian-medium schools to Estonian as the medium of instruction.
In the lecture at Tallinn University, Mila Schwartz will focus on a novel
theoretical concept of language-conducive strategies. These strategies
are aimed to enhance children's willingness to communicate in a new
language. The following strategies will be presented and illustrated:
creating a low-anxiety atmosphere, teacher and peer modeling, explicit
request to use L2, elicitation strategies, teacher mediated
socio-dramatic play, and creating a language environment.
