Film night and procession to celebrate Estonia's Independence

On February 23rd everyone who is interested in seeing some of the brilliant newcomers in Estonian film market are invited to the Institute of History at Rüütli 10 by 7 p.m. You can vote for your favourite film, moreover special food and drinks will be provided. The event is FREE OF CHARGE for everyone!

At sunset we’ll have a procession going to Toompea, hoisting the flag and traditional chaplet put in honour of the victims in War of Independence.

7 pm Doors open at Tallinn University Institute of History, Rüütli 10 (Old Town)

7 pm Estonian humour presented by Tujurikkuja

8 pm Formal start. Speech by Tallinn University Student Union Chairman of the Board

8 pm - 6 am Film marathon

6- 6.15 am Gathering in purpose to drink krambambuli

6.15 - 7 am Drinking krambambula, singing and speeches.

7 am Going to procession together

7. 35 am Sunrise

What is this special procession about

TLU students procession to Toompea starts from Tallinn University Institute of History. If you have not managed to stay up all night then just come to Rüütli 10 (Institute of History) at 6 am. Krambambuli is sent on the road to keep us warm, whilst singing will keep us happy and energetic . At 7 am the procession starts moving towards Toompea. Flag hoisting starts 7.33 am. The next step is ÌìÃÀÓ°ÊÓ Reaalkool, where they put chaplet to memorialize all the teachers and students descended in the War of Independence. Please prepare yourself with warm clothes, take your friends with you and put your university cap on. We will hope to see you at film night as well as procession!
