Timo Partala, a candidate for the position of Senior research fellow on New Learning Environments and Technologies collaborative, problem-based and creative learning), will hold his Venia Legendi “Understanding the Use of Educational Technology”. In the lecture, he will give an overview of his previous work in the field of educational technology, and describe his vision for learning environment research within the CEITER project.

Bio:
Timo Partala received his PhD from Tampere University of Technology in 2005 for his research in the role of affective data within human-computer interaction. His research and studies have hitherto focused on user-centred interaction design and user experience analysis. From 2005, he has worked as a researcher, research fellow and project manager at University of Oulu, Helsinki Institute for Information Technology, and Tampere University of Technology.
