Micro-degree from the Human Rights in the Digital Society master's programme of the School of Governance, Law and Society

The aim of the course is to provide participants with knowledge of the main challenges to human rights law resulting from technological and geopolitical developments. The microdegree will give an overview of the concept of new human rights, the theoretical discussion surrounding it and discuss the main new human rights. The graduates will able to participate in discussions in relation to corporate social responsibility and the human rights obligations of businesses.

Government officials; officials from Ministry of Foreign Affairs; members of NGOs; lawyers working on human rights issues; others.
Aims
After the course the participant
- understands and analyses challenges to human rights and human rights law;
- understands how human rights protection works at different levels and is able to offer solutions;
- is able to contribute to discussions on human rights issues (including in connection with the responsibility of business enterprises).

Academic Staff
Mart Susi is the Professor of Human Rights at Tallinn University and the Head of the Law study area. Professor Susi is active in publishing articles and commentaries on human rights, with a special focus on new human rights.
