An international conference entitled "The EU Strategy for the Baltic Sea
Region - Topical Legal and Economic issues (including insolvency)" will be
held at Tallinn University from 8-9 November. The conference will be opened
in the auditorium M218 (Mare building, Uus-Sadama 5) on 8 November at
10:00.European Union’s Strategy for the Baltic Sea Region, which was
established in 2009, is the new direction in EU integration and regional
politics. It strives for more intensive cooperation between the Baltic
countries and shapes the region into a regional cooperation model for the
whole European Union. The strategy aims to protect the Sea, connect the
region and increase prosperity. The implementation of the strategy is
financed from different EU funds in the area including the Baltic Sea
Region Programme.There will be a number of intensive panel discussions
during the conference. The topic of the first panel will be "The
Development of Economic Competitiveness of the Baltic Sea Region and Legal
Space – Constraints and Possibilities Concerning Insolvency Law and
Execution Proceedings".The second panel discussion is entitled "Cooperation
of Public, Private and Third-party Sectors in Shaping a Common Economic,
Legal and Administrative Space of the Baltic Sea Region".The third panel
discussion is entitled "Public Services Innovation, Secure Exchange of
Information, Digital Signature – ‘Miracle Weapons’ or the Unfulfilled
Dream of Enhancing the Economic and Legal Environment of the Baltic Sea
