A symposium dedicated to the 50th birthday of Professor Rein Raud
entitled "Rein Raud 50: Critical Readings" will be held on December 17 at
11:30. The symposium will be open to everyone interested in the writings of
Rein Raud.The presenters Mihhail Lotman, Ãœlar Ploom, Igor Pilschikov,
Aleksi Järvela and Alari Allik will give separate talks on Professor
Raud's work and on themes related to his different interests and domains of
expertise. Every attendee will have the opportunity to take part in a
friendly discussion on the forementioned topics and to congratulate
Professor Raud on his birthday. Part of the symposium will be in
English.When the seminar reaches its end around 14:30, all Rein Raud's
friends, acquaintances, colleagues, students and aficionados are welcome to
head to the café of theatre NO99 (Sakala 3) for some cake and drinks.For
