Projekt PMR 12.02
Meelis Muhu’s brand new “PMR” is about the small country of Transnistria next to Moldova, which is ruled in a true Soviet fashion.
Transnistria has its own president and currency, but has not been recognized by a single foreign nation. Not even by Russia, which in 1992 ended the conflict with Moldova with a military intervention. Its economy is supported by Russia’s humanitarian aid, while the political circumstances worsen. Meelis Muhu’s film follows the 2011 presidential elections, and the re-election aspirations of Smirnov. It paints a striking picture of a region whose political system is based on old threats.

Kullaketrajad.
A documentary by Kiur Aarma and Hardi Volmer
The Gold Spinners tells the story of the birth, glory and downfall of a peculiar, invisible and mighty business empire. It's a story of the film studio Eesti Reklaamfilm – the only enterprise producing commercials in the Soviet Union. It might have been born in the head of one man, but during its heyday the studio provided employment for hundreds of people and its clips won over millions. And all this in the 'socialist empire', under the conditions of planned economy and universal lack of everything. With no actual goods to advertise, marketing rules did not apply and even the word advertisement sounded almost as horrible as 'the CIA', 'the saxophone' or 'Coca-Cola' to the thousands of concerned officials.
Riigivargad.
Manfred Vainokivi’s documentary tells a story about an ordinary man whose innocent theft caused the collapse od the Sovien Union.
