Sergio Torres, a federal judge from Argentina, will give a public lecture
entitled "Human Rights and Justice. Argentina as a Leading Case in Seeking
Justice for Crimes against Humanity". The lecture will be held in Tallinn
University Law School (Siili St 14, Tallinn) on Tuesday, 15 May at
12:00.Sergio Gabriel Torres is a Federal Magistrate in Criminal and
Correctional Matters in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He presides over the ESMA
case, which involves more than 800 cases of illegal detentions, torture,
disappearances and deaths committed at the Navy School of Mechanics (ESMA),
where one of the largest clandestine detention centres operated during the
1976–1983 military dictatorship.The Ambassador from the Embassy of
Argentina H.E. Mr Daniel Pierini is organising the lecture in
cooperation with theTallinn University Law School and Research Development
