Galina Kapanen, a doctoral student at Tallinn University Institute of
Mathematics and Natural Sciences, will defend her PhD thesis entitled
"Phosphorus in the Bottom Sediments of the Large Shallow Lake Peipsi:
Environmental Factors and Anthropogenic Impact on the Lake Ecosystem". Her
defence will take place in the auditorium M-523 (TU Mare building,
Uus-Sadama 5) on Friday, 16 March at 14:00.The supervisors of the thesis
are Professor [Jaan-Mati Punning], Tallinn University Institute of
Mathematics and Natural Sciences and Senior Researcher at Tallinn
University Institute of Ecology, and Jaanus Terasmaa, Senior Researcher at
Tallinn University Institute of Mathematics and Natural Sciences.The
opponents of the thesis are Juha Niemistö, Researcher at the Faculty of
Biological and Environmental Sciences, University of Helsinki, and Anu
Kisand, Senior Researcher at the Institute of Geology, Tallinn University
