Tallinn Winter School 2010
In October 2009, Tallinn Summer School has launched a new initiative, a
seasonal counterpart - the Tallinn Winter School. The registration for
courses is open.In summer 2009, 35 different countries were represented,
bringing together 205 students in 11 subject-specific courses. Summer
School explored the subject of everyday life: strategy and performance in
social life, networks of daily rhythms, common and minimal aspects of
habitat. Summer School 2010 will focus on globalization.In January 2010,
Tallinn Winter School offers five courses: Estonian-, Russian-, and English
intensive language courses, plus workshops in painting and filmmaking.
Studies will be supplemented by a program of cultural and social events
which will take participants around Estonia, visiting Lahemaa, in North of
Estonia and Otep盲盲, winter capital in South of Estonia.The language of
instruction is English and all courses last three weeks (except the
one-week painting course). Winter School begins with an (optional) trip to
St. Petersburg on December 30th, 2009, and the main study course begins
