Tallinn University researcher named honorary professor by the Swedish King

Shinya Sugita, a senior researcher at Tallinn University, was awarded the
title of Honorary Professor of Environmental Sciences on November 22, by
the Swedish King Carl Gustaf  XVI 50 year Jubilee Fund. Dr Shinya
Sugita has been a senior researcher at the Institute of Ecology since last
December. He is internationally recognized among paleoecologists, mainly as
the creator of the model of the airborne transfer of pollen. Read more
about Shinya Sugita here. Annually, the fund names one honorary professor
in the field of environmental sciences. Shinya Sugita is the 15th recipient
of the award. The award also provides an opportunity for the recipient to
work and practice in a Swedish university for one year.The Jubilee Fund was
created jointly by the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, the Royal Swedish
Academy of Agriculture and Forestry (KSLA), the Royal Swedish Academy of
Engineering Sciences and the Confederation of Swedish Enterprise (Svenskt
N盲ringsliv) to celebrate the 50th jubilee of King Carl Gustaf 
XVI.  The King himself is the head of the Jubilee Fund.
