Tallinn University Now Has Six Schools
According to the TU Senate decision, the teaching and research activities of the Institute of History will continue at the School of Humanities from December 1st. This will end the changes in the university structure, which brought the development of five focus fields into six schools.
According to the TU Senate decision, the teaching and research activities of the Institute of History will continue at the School of Humanities from December 1st. This will end the changes in the university structure, which brought the development of five focus fields into six schools.
The academic units of Tallinn University are the School of Educational Sciences; Baltic Film, Media, Arts and Communication School; School of Humanities; School of Natural Sciences and Health, School of Governance, Law and Society, School of Digital Technologies and the regional colleges at Haapsalu and Rakvere.
The School of Humanities created the study area of history to accommodate the studies, led by professor Kersti Markus. The Institute of History, Archaeology and Art History, which is led by senior researcher Anu M盲nd until the new elections, will conduct the research activities.
The Institute of History, Archaeology and Art History will also lead two research networks: the Centre for Medieval Studies and the Estonian Centre for Environmental History. The offices of academic and research staff will move from R眉眉tli Street to the Mare building on the main campus.
From December 1st, the department of archaeological collections will become a separate support unit and be renamed the Archaeological Research Collection of Tallinn University. The unit will be led by 脺lle Tamla and currently remain at the R眉眉tli Street building.
