The introductory event that took place on Tuesday 17th February at Tallinn university, was a runaway success. Over 100 students registered their interest in the Startup passion programme of training and mentoring, kicking off with a hackathon next month.
Enthusiastic young people were able to share their ideas and get to know each other over an innovative buffet put together by the Startup Passion team. Given a tortilla wrap and with a fantastic range of fillings, the future CEOs had to create their own lunch, resulting in a wide variety of different creations.
Olesja Rotar of Startup Passion explained, “We wanted to create a situation where these creative people would feel at home, and how better to do this than to give them free reign to decide how they presented the tasty complimentary food we put on for them.”
The whole idea of Startup Passion is to bring the knowledge and experience of key players within the business world, to young and creative enterprising students with a passion to succeed. It is an international program run by four organisations: a regional development agency, (Finland), Tallinn University, (Kymenlaakson ammattikorkeakoulu, The University of Applied Sciences, Finland), and (SSE Riga). All the events, training, time of the mentors and - connected to that - travel expenses are free of charge for the students. Participation in the Startup Passion program can also be converted into credit points.
