Rector Tiit Land Calls for Unity
Professor Tiit Land, Rector of Tallinn University, greeted the academic
family at the opening ceremony for the 2012/2013 academic year on September
3.The Rector encouraged students to connect with each other to share their
successes and difficulties, to reach new understandings and to build strong
collegial relationships that will provide support for a long time. "It is
especially important to avoid missing classes. The staff of Tallinn
University and the Student Body can provide support if you are in a
situation that makes it difficult to attend classes."The Rector pointed out
that unity is a value for all students and staff of Tallinn University.
"Unity can be found in the friendly, mutually respectful relations between
students and staff. Unity means having common aims and moving towards these
aims together with a feeling of us.鈥 The Rector also emphasised that the
understanding of and support for each other are essential values in
achieving high-quality education and creating a university that we can all
be proud of.New professors were also introduced at the opening
