Record amount of Master’s students start in Tallinn University

About 2,800 new students start in Tallinn University this autumn, which is more than the spring prognosis estimated. The number of students in Master’s programme is also bigger – close to 900 new Master’s students start this academic year.

About 2,800 new students start in Tallinn University this autumn, which is more than the spring prognosis estimated. The number of students in Master’s programme is also bigger – close to 900 new Master’s students start this academic year.

„Compared to three earlier years, the  admission to Master’s programme in Tallinn University has been increased by 10%, and decreased to Bachelor’s programme by 5%. This is in accordance with the goal to increase the proportion of Master’s studies in Tallinn University,“ says Priit Reiska, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs.

„Tallinn University was very popular among applicants this summer and approximately 3,3 applications per position were submitted, which allowed us to raise the bar of admission for most specialities. The average exam result to get to Tallinn University reached 80 points,“ Reiska adds.

Opening Ceremonies marking the commencement of the 2013/2014 academic-year at Tallinn University  will be held in front of the Nova building at 12 Noon on Monday, 2 September.
Rector Professor Tiit Land, Professor Kaja Tampere and Enelin Paas, the Chairman of the Board of the Student Union will join in extending their best wishes to the students and employees of Tallinn University for a great new academic year.
