Tallinn University hosts the World Usability Day conference on Friday November 13th. World Usability Day Tallinn is the largest UX (user experience) design event in Baltics - it is the go-to conference for designers, developers and everyone interested in UX & interaction design.
The event will focus on design values and ideation, while also giving an overview of the current trends in health and well-being. The second part of the day looks at practical issues such as user experience evaluation and responsive design.
This years keynote speakers are Vitaly Friedman (Smashing Magazine) and Jettie Hoonhout (Philips Research). Friedman will talk about responsive design, providing a practical overview of various techniques, tips and tricks that you might want to be aware of when working on a new responsive design project.
Jettie Hoonhout will discuss the importance of working with multi-disciplinary teams throughout the product or service development chain - how it changes usability from a more traditional easy-to-use perspective to a motivation/need/drive perspective.
The conference also features many other experts from the field: Elise Sass (Microsoft), Calum Cameron (Startup Wise Guys), Yuri Vedenin (UXpresso, ITMINE), Bartosz Mozyrko (Usability Tools), Nuno M. Garcia (University of Beira Interior). The conference is moderated by Kristjan Karmo.
WUD Tallinn is accompanied by 5 hands on workshops and tutorials on the days before and after the main event (12th and 14th November).
