Competence Centre of Asian Studies' seminar for public sector officials

The Competence Centre of Asian Studies and Developing Research, founded at the universities' initiative, held a seminar in collaboration with the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, on 18 February, where the public sector officials, who are involved in economic and enterprise development, will be educated further about the role of Asia in today's world economy and politics. The seminar took place at the Ministry of Education and Research's rooms.

The Competence Centre of Asian Studies and Developing Research, founded at the universities' initiative, held a seminar in collaboration with the Estonian Ministry of Education and Research, on 18 February, where the public sector officials, who are involved in economic and enterprise development, will be educated further about the role of Asia in today's world economy and politics. Speaking at the seminar: Prof Urmas Varblane from University of Tartu, Prof Tanel Kerikmäe from Tallinn University of Technology, senior research fellow Karin Dean from Tallinn University, Hannes Hanso from the International Centre of Defence Studies and Andres Kasekamp from the Estonian Foreign Policy Institute.

Competence Centre of Asian Studies and Developing Research was founded in January 2014 in the initiave of Tallinn University, University of Tartu and Tallinn University of Technology, to bring together the researchers working on the subject(s) of Asian economy, politics and society, and create a centralised and structured network; also to simplify finding any and all data regarding Asia in general.

The aim of the Centre is to improve research in Estonia that is necessary to develop and create or maintain relations with Asia, and to create collaboration points between the public sector and enterprise.
