BFM transmedia project „Nullpunkt“ won grandprix in Poland

Dagmar Mäe and Tõnis Vassar won grandprix in Poland for their transmedia project „Nullpunkt“

Dagmar Mäe and Tõnis Vassar are Tallinn University Baltic Film and Media School’s Crossmedia MA programme graduates who went to the international audiovisual festival/conference in Lodz „Filmteractive“ with their project „Nullpunkt“. BFM graduates Dagmar and Tõnis won grandprix in the frames of Filmteractive market and got 10.000 zlotas as a winning prize.

The decision was made by the international jury team of experts amongst eight chosen projects. The initial amount of submitted transmedia projects was 35. 

“Filmteractive turned out to be times more interesting and successful event than we expected. We think that our participation in this event and especially our win are very important for the future of the project. From the international jury we got lots of courage”, said Dagmar and Tõnis. “At the moment we are actively working on Nullpunkt Transmedia Experience to be carried out in Estonia and who knows, maybe one day we will go with our project abroad as well”.

Nullpunkt is a novel written by a young Estonian author, Margus Karu, in 2010. The story is about a 17-year-old teenager, Johannes, and his struggles of defining his role in the society. Besides the book, Nullpunkt story world consists of a feature film, to be produced by Allfilm. The transmediatic experience developed by Dagmar and Tõnis involves several different elements, such as an alternate reality game, book-crossing, video-blog, user-generated content and a TV mini series.
