The European Federation of Cinematographers, or IMAGO, is an umbrella organisation for guilds of cinematographers. Estonia is represented by the Estonian Society of Cinematographers (ESC).
ESC has 10 members, which makes it one of the smallest societies of cinematographers in the world next to IKS, Iceland鈥檚 equivalent, but as these guilds comprise cinematographers who work with feature films, this number is not too small for Estonia. BFM is proud that of the ten, seven are BFM alumni and one, Mait M盲ekivi, is a film arts visiting Professor.
鈥淪erving as a board member of IMAGO is a great honour. The organisation has had a substantial breakthrough in the past years, comprising nearly 50 guilds from across the globe, including Australia, Canada, Japan and New-Zealand. This is no longer just an European organisation, as the joys and concerns of cinematographers are global, not local, and such an organisation can help along the cinematographers and the film industry in general around the world,鈥 says Elen Lotman.
British Cinematographer Magazine is one of the more valued cinematographer professional magazine next to the American Cinematographer Magazine, covering cinematographers鈥 activities on the set as well as on an international level.
