Lecture: The EU-China relations in times of economic crisis

Assistant Professor Tomaz Kaminski from University of Lodz will give an open lecture on the topic of  EU-China relations in times of economic crisis at the Institute of Political Science and Governance, Tallinn University.

In his lecture Dr. Kaminski will discuss following topics:

  1. Overview of the EU policy towards China – evolution, goals, main areas of cooperation.
  2. Economic problems: trade, investments, development aid, environmental issues.
  3. Political problems: human rights, Taiwan, arms embargo, Africa.
  4. Case study: Chinese Sovereign Wealth Funds and the EU reaction on their activities
  5. Case study: development of Chinese defence forces and the approach of the EU.
  6. Final discussion: Should we be afraid of China?

The lecture will be held in English. No previous registration required, everyone is welcome!

Tomaz Kaminski is visiting Tallinn University in the frame of ERASMUS academic staff exchange programme.
