iCal calendarII International Conference „Emerging Screen Sites/Sights: Development of Cinema around the Baltic Sea 1920-1940“ takes place in SuperNova screening hall at Tallinn University on October 1st and 2nd, 2015.
Conference speeches will focus on the following subjects: film financing in the countries around the Baltic Sea in 1920-1940; coping with the difficulties due to the arrival of sound cinema and utilizing the concurring new possibilities; the characteristics of the new emerging genre: arthouse cinema; establishment of the first local film schools.
All film students and others interested in film culture in general are welcome to participate.
Conference will be held in English and participation is free of charge.
