Institute for Ecology Presents: Seminar by Yukihiro Tamura
Add to calendar
iCal calendarOn Friday, 11 December 2015 at 9AM, at M-523, Yukihiro Tamura will give a lecture on Stand reconstruction of boreal forests in Juminda.
Yukihiro Tamura is a student from Kyoto University, who is currently at the Institute for Ecology to conduct his project on the correlations between storm periods and the biomass in forests.
Abstract:
Forests are dying in many places due to global warming.
Boreal forests are considered to store 49% of forest biomass. Therefore, it is important to know how boreal forests were affected by climate to predict the future behavior of it. To reconstruct forest biomass in the past is most important, so in this seminar, the method of stand reconstruction and preliminaly results about forest biomass in Juminda is discussed.
The seminar is open for everyone.
