Studying the meaning of ‘late socialism’ (1960s-80s) in Estonian memory culture at beginning of 21st century
"My presentation focuses on the meaning making of late socialism in Estonian post-socialist memory culture. My speech is based on my dissertation Dynamics and tensions of remembrance in post-Soviet Estonia: Late socialism in the making (2017, Tartu University). I am looking at the dynamic of remembering in the first decade of 21st century. I will show how different discourses dealing with late socialism emerged during that time."

The next speaker on the 26th of April will be Hadas Weiss from the Max Planck Institute for Social Anthropology. Her talk is entitled "Financial Education in Germany: The Social Logic of Financial Agency ". Her talk be the first in the series of Inimkond presentations by prominent scholars taking place between 30.04 and 3.03. More information to follow shortly.
