The French Minister of European Union Affairs Clément Beaune and the Estonian Undersecretary for European Affairs Märt Volmer: "The Future of Europe: vision of France and Estonia".

iCal calendarThe French Minister of European Union Affairs Clément Beaune and the Estonian Undersecretary for European Affairs Märt Volmer will hold a public seminar "The Future of Europe: vision of France and Estonia". The seminar takes place on 4 September at 12, at Tallinn University.
Minister Beaune and Undersecretary Volmer will discuss, among other topics, about the French Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2022.
Only a limited number of TLU students and employees can physically participate in the seminar. The university will also broadcast a public seminar in Zoom, through which interested parties from outside the university can follow the discussion as well.
The seminar is held in English. The university asks all participants, both physical and virtual, to register via the registration form. Questions can be asked on the form as well, which Undersecretary Märt Volmer and Minister Clément Beaune will try to answer during the seminar.
The public seminar "France's political vision of the European Union in the context of the Presidency of the Council of the European Union in 2022" will take place on 4 September at 12 in the Mare building of Tallinn University, room M-648.
Clément Beaune is a graduate of the Paris Institute of Political Studies (Sciences Po) and of the Bruges College of Europe (“Montesquieu” year). He is an alumnus of the French National School of Public Administration (ENA) (“Willy Brandt” year).
After leaving ENA in 2009, Clément Beaune joined the Budget Directorate, as Deputy Head of the Finance Acts Bureau.
In 2011, he became Deputy Head of the Research and Higher Education Bureau.
From 2013 to 2014, Clément Beaune was a technical adviser (budget) to the Prime Minister.
From 2014 to 2016, he was European, International and Budgetary Affairs Adviser to the Minister of the Economy, Industry and the Digital Sector.
From 2016 to 2017, he was Deputy CEO of ADP Management.
From 2017 to 2020, Clément Beaune was a Special Adviser within the Diplomatic Unit of the Presidency of the Republic.
On July 26, 2020, he was appointed Secretary of State for European Affairs to the Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs, in the Jean Castex government.
Märt Volmer is a graduate of Tallinn University and of the Estonian School of Diplomacy. He gained a master’s degree from the Estonian Business School.
Since 1993 Märt Volmer has been working for the Estonian MFA and Estonian foreign representations, he has worked in Vienna, at Estonia’s Permanent Mission to the OSCE, and has served as the Consul General in St Petersburg and as an attaché at the Estonian Embassy in Copenhagen.
From 2004 to 2008, Märt Volmer was the Estonian Ambassador to Turkey and Azerbaijan, residing in Ankara.
From 2008 to 2011, Märt Volmer worked as the Director General of the 3rd Political Division at the Foreign Ministry.
From 2011 to 2015, Märt Volmer worked as the Prime Minister’s adviser on international relations and foreign policy.
