On 17th of June at 18.30 Hardi Volmer’s “Elavad pildid” will be screened in BFM’s SuperNova Cinema Hall. Plus, Hardi will be present for the introduction.

“Elavad pildid” is a historical melodrama that takes us through the 20th century by telling the stories of two Estonians, Helmi and Julius. The film begins with their birth in the beginning of the century, in a house belonging to Baltic Germans, and ends in the end of the century in a newly liberated Estonia on the backdrop of the arrival of neo-capitalist values. It is a grotesque approach on the difficult turns in Estonian as well as European history, and involves a good dose of both humour and tragedy.
