A conference dedicated to the 90th anniversary of Juri Lotman will be held
in the auditorium M-218 (TU Mare building, Uus-Sadama 5) on 26–27
February. The conference was organised by the Estonian Institute of
Humanities in Tallinn University and the Estonian Semiotics Repository
Foundation.Juri Lotman's role as a scientist, his academic influence and
the contemporary developments of his contribution will be discussed at the
conference, during which Juri Lotman will also be remembered as a teacher,
a colleague and a friend. The presenters include Tomas Venclova, Pekka
Pesonen, Natalja Gorbanevskaja, Irina Belobrovtseva, Malle Salupere,
Mihhail Lotman, Rein Raud, Rein Veidemann.The working language of the
conference will be Russian. Simultaneous interpretation into Estonian will
be available during the opening sessions from 9:45-12:30 on Monday 27th
