Conference "German Language Opens Doors" in Tallinn German Gymnasium

iCal calendarTallinn University and Tallinn German Gymnasium hold a conference "Deutsch öffnet die Türen" ("German Languages Opens Doors") on 25 October. The conference celebrates the 30th anniversary of specialised German language studies in TGG and also discusses the position of German language in Estonia today.
The presentations are about history, economy, law and linguistics, and they all open the subject of German language in Estonia today, the current level and the need to study it. A guest speaker from Finland introduces the situation overseas. The conference will end with a panel discussion about the representation of German language and culture in Estonia today.
The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in Estonia, Matthias Schlaga speaks about the future perspectives and Germany's views regarding collaboration between Estonia and Germany.
The conference takes place in Tallinn German Gymnasium.
