iCal calendarAssociate Professor Feng Wei from Guangdong University of Foreign Studies will be giving a seminar on the topic of "A Taste of China - Know China from it's diet".
She is currently a Visiting Research Fellow in the School of Governance, Law and Society in the framework of the project: Imagining Development: A multidisciplinary and multilevel analysis of development policies and their effect in the post-socialist world ()
Abstract
We are what we eat. Diet is the human needs both physiologically and psychologically. It is also a reflection of national/ local culture, social traditions and folk customs. The workshop will be organized to introduce the extensive and profound Chinese dietary culture: diet and folk customs, diet and interpersonal relationships, diet and the natural environment climate, diet and esthetics and philosophy, characteristics and dietary changes. Miss Feng looks forward to a lively discussion on this topic, hoping that the workshop will help the participants understand China from an interesting perspective.
