Film students in Heelmeester`s festival
1st of September Heelmeesters`s Film Festival took place in Hilversum, Netherlans.
From the festival took part also our first short film "Kontrapunkt". The film Festival was part of a bit bigger Heelmeesters`s art project, whitch included also several exhibitions and workshops. The aim of the festival was to discuss ethical and moral dilemmas and to connect healing power of the art to medicine. All five films whitch were selected to the festival got interesting introducdions by various medical experts. "Kontrapunkt" spokesman was Dutch neurologist Roderik Blom, who inspired from the film, talked about the impact of music to human brain and its positive healing properties. Unlike the other speakers, who unfortunately talked Flemish, dr. Blom took us by surprise and held his presentation in a little more international language, ending it proudly with slide from Estonian song festival and with words: "Tere! Ja Hüvasti!"
We submitted "Kontrapunkt" to this festival with no high hopes. There where 300 films submitted so huge was our surprise when they picked our film. Short films selected for Festival were very different both genres as well as film language. Animation, documentary, dance film and comedy. Festival followed wit Q&A form debate, which was open to all people who visited the festival. Feedback to us was warm and supportive.
