ÜTI teadusseminar "Shared Parental Responsibility as a New Foundation for Family Law: Scientific Evidence and a Proposal for Legislative Reform"

Dr Edward Kruk töötab Briti Columbia Ülikoolis. Tema uurimissuundadeks on lapse ja perede õigused ning lahku läinud vanemate vahelised suhted, perelepitus ning vanemast võõrandumine. Dr Kruk viib ühtlasi läbi perelepitusi Kanadas Vancouveris. Dr Kruk omab sotsiaaltöötajana praktilist kogemust üle 40 aasta.

1. The concept of “the best interests of the child from the perspective of the child”; a “responsibility-to-needs” approach to child custody determination
2. Scientific evidence in favour of shared parenting as in the best interests of children
3. Alternative shared parenting frameworks
4. A template for the establishment of a rebuttable legal presumption of shared parenting responsibility

is Associate Professor of Social Work at the University of British Columbia, specializing in child and family policy. As a child and family social worker in Canada and the U.K., he has practiced in the fields of welfare rights, child protection, school social work, hospital social work, and family services. He is currently teaching and practicing in the areas of family mediation and addiction.
