SOGOLAS DOCTORAL STUDIES ROUND TABLE

Objective: To analyse (good) practices of analytical overview for doctoral theses and develop a shared understanding of the content and structure of an analytical overview in a doctoral thesis  

Target audience: (current and future) doctoral students and supervisors

Working language: English

Topics:

  • Discussion on Prof. Anu Toots’ lecture for the doctoral school’s writing retreat of January 2021 (to be watched before round table). Video recording and presentation slides available here:

  • Example-based discussion – one graduate per SOGOLAS PhD program will be present (supervisor as well, if possible) to share experience of the process (incl. reviews given at pre-defence and defence). Defended theses will be sent to participants beforehand for prior review and preparation of questions and discussion points.

The round table will be held as an in-person event, no online participation available.
