Tallinn Summer and Winter School's Veteran Barry

Tallinn Summer School and Tallinn Winter School are 3-week programmes, one in July, another in January. Both include several courses in various fields and provide a fascinating cultural programme full of recreational trips.
Here is an interview with Barry who is a veteran participant in our Summer and Winter School. Barry works as a civil servant in England, he investigates insolvency fraud. He just finished his master’s studies in Forensic Accounting.
How many times have you participated in Tallinn Summer and Winter School?
This is my fifth Summer School, and I’ve been at four Winter Schools. It’s my 18th visit to Estonia, so it’s a shame there aren’t also Spring and Autumn Schools!
Why are you back?
Because there isn’t a city as beautiful as Tallinn, or a Summer and Winter School as friendly as TSS and TWS! And also because Estonian is quite difficult…
What do you like about Tallinn Summer and Winter School?
The people you meet, the city you meet them in, and of course the teachers and lessons!
What are some of the coolest moments of Tallinn Summer and Winter School?
The spare time spent in the city, the weekend trips, and the kitchen parties in Karu.
What do you think about Estonians and Estonia?
Estonians are lucky people to live in such a lovely country, but I’m not sure they always realise it! Estonians you meet here are puzzled and ask you why you keep coming back. Estonians you meet abroad, who know what they’re missing, know exactly why someone would want to keep coming back here!
As soon as you get to know Estonians you realise that the stereotypes aren’t true, except maybe for the strange sense of humour!
The registration for this year's Winter School has started! You can find more information .
