Call for the Expression of Interest in a Professor position at the , Tallinn University, Estonia
The School of Digital Technologies has undertaken a major development by evolving international programmes and research groups. The main ongoing research in the school is devoted to developing and investigating the functioning of social media digital ecosystems, human-computer interaction, information sciences and applied mathematics.
The successful applicant for a professorship is expected to create his/her research group in Estonia, supervise postgraduate students of “Information Society Technologies” doctoral programme and make a significant contribution to the development of research. Applicants will preferably meet the R4 level or, at minimum, the R3 level of requirements specified in the European Research Career Framework[1].
The grant period is for 5 years, with possible extension to a permanent position funded from the university budget.
The school offers excellent working conditions, significant freedom in deciding about the scope of academic activities, and a reduced amount of administrative and teaching obligations. However, an interdisciplinary research direction lying at the intersection of information science, applied mathematics, social informatics and computing, for example focusing on data science and data analytics or machine learning in the context of application areas such as education, well-being, government, business or cultural preservation, would be welcome.
