Neljapäeval, 15. novembril algusega kell 16.15 toimub Ajaloo Instituudis
järjekordne Keskaja Keskuse seminar, sedakorda esineb ingliskeelse
ettekandega teemal "Püha Eriku pühad väljad: Uppsala peapiiskop Jacob
Ulvsson ja ristisõda venelaste vastu, 1495–1497" Janus Møller Jensen
Nyborgist. Seminar toimub Ajaloo Instituudi suures saalis (Rüütli 6, ruum
303).Janus Møller Jensen on Nyborgi linnuse (Østfyns Museer) juhataja.
Tal on doktorikraad Lõuna-Taani Ãœ±ô¾±°ì´Ç´Ç±ô¾±²õ³Ù, mille ta sai väitekirja eest
"Taani ja ristisõjad 1400–1650". Ta on avaldanud palju mitmesuguste
ristisõjaliikumise aspektide kohta.Ettekande ingliskeelne tutvustusThe
Holy Field of St. Erik: Archbishop Jacob Ulvsson of Uppsala and the Crusade
against the Russians, 1495–1497: Late medieval crusading has not received
a lot of attention from medieval scholars in Scandinavia. But that does not
mean that it was unimportant. On the contrary it has been realized that
crusading was extremely important politically and ideologically in
Scandinavia. The paper demonstrates this by focusing on the crusade efforts
against the Russians in the second half of the fifteenth century
culminating in the great crusade of 1495-97 on a broad European background.
It mattered not just on the political level as the entire population in
Sweden and Finland was asked to participate through prayers and liturgy
according to the general papal crusade encyclicals. In all this Archbishop
