The program supports the development of academic leaders’ leadership competencies, including their capacity to lead learning and teaching processes effectively. It also enhances participants' ability to use reflection intentionally and apply different reflective strategies. The structure of the development program is based on the principle of inquiry-based learning, balancing theory and practice. Participants will have the opportunity to meet other academic leaders and learn from their experiences.

Who is the program for?

We welcome applications from academic leaders in general education schools, hobby schools and vocational education institutions — including heads of studies and academic directors — with 6 months to 5 years of work experience, who wish to grow professionally and find support for their everyday challenges.

Program Structure

Modules: The development program consists of eight two-day modules. The sessions cover theoretical foundations in educational leadership, models of collaboration between academic leaders and stakeholders, and focus on the school’s core activity — leading learning. Conceptual knowledge will be supported by practitioners from various levels of the education system.

Mentoring: Each participant will have access to a mentor who is an experienced practitioner, to support them throughout the program.

Mini research project: During the program, participants will conduct an independent mini research project, helping them apply principles of evidence-based leadership and gain experience in consciously influencing core school processes.

The program is supported by the European Union through the European Social Fund and the Estonian state. The activity is titled "Initial and Continuing Education and Development of Education and Youth Sector Professionals."
