Esmaspäeval, 13. märtsil, kell 12.00 (ruumis A121) toimub Dashiell Oatman-Stanfordi tutvustusseminar.

Seminaril tutvustab nooremteadur Dashiell Oatman-Stanfordi uurimisvaldkonda. Seminari teemaks on "Cognitive speed training for children who have survived an acquired brain injury".

Seminar kestab 45 minutit, järgneb küsimuste ja vastuste voor.

Fookus: Cognitive speed training for children who have survived an acquired brain injury.
Seminari tutvustus:
"Can processing speed in children be improved just by playing games? My researched aimed to explore this question in a population of six children living in Scotland. All children had processing speed impairments due to neurological trauma. Each child was asked to play widely available board, card, and computer games two hours per week for eight weeks. Feasibility, acceptability, and efficacy will be discussed." - Dashiell Oatman-Stanford.

Kes on Dashiell Oatman-Stanford?

Dashiell graduated from the University of Sheffield in 2011 with a MA in Music Psychology, where he focused on gender stereotypes in music performance evaluation. In 2012, he graduated from the University of Edinburgh with an MSc in Human Cognitive Neuropsychology, focusing specifically on cognitive speed training for children with acquired brain injury.

Dashiell is an early-stage researcher at Tallinn University, participating in development of the Estonian Children's Personality Behavior and Health Study under the supervision of  Aleksander Pulver, Jaanus Harro and the ECPBHS Steering Committee Members. His particular focus is on different coping strategies with novelty, their development from childhood to young adulthood, and impact on health. Dashiell is developing a classifying instrument to distinguish high vs. low expression of exploratory behavior.
