Hagi (the Head of the programme), please describe what is the Media BA programme about?
The is well established; with more than 15 years of experience. The students gain skills and knowledge for the production of audiovisual content for multiple platforms. Student productions and creative assignments are developed and produced in teams, using up-to-date equipment and newly built production facilities.

What are some of the ways that this programme is distinctive?
We believe in learning by doing. Our focus is on professional hands-on training designed for international careers in the world’s rapidly growing audiovisual media industry.
What kind of courses will be offered to students?
The 3-year Media BA programme adopts a practice-based approach to deliver the skills and understanding essential for the production of audiovisual content. Students acquire theoretical knowledge and hands-on experience in developing and creating audiovisual productions. During their studies they will learn how to write, plan, produce, shot and edit TV programmes, short fiction films, documentaries, music videos, advertising and corporate videos. There are a lot of production and interdisciplinary projects.
What are the practical skills that students acquire during their studies?
They acquire basics skills that are needed to produce audiovisual content for television and film starting from scriptwriting, directing, pre-production, production and also options to get and refine the experience in using technical means of audiovisual production (camerawork, editing, lighting and sound).
What kind of students, with what kind of backgrounds, might be interested in this programme?
We are waiting for active, creative young people who are aware that they have a strong interest and commitment to prepare themselves for creative and practical work in the audiovisual media industry.
What jobs will students go on after they garaduate?
The Media BA programme is a good base for continuing studies at MA level in respective areas in Estonia and abroad. Our graduates are also qualified for start their professional careers in television, film and media industry as assistant directors, producers, scriptwriters, journalists, content and video-editors or cameramen.
What is in your view most exciting about this programme?
I think that the most exciting about the programme is obtaining balanced academic and practical knowledge and skills to start a creative professional career in the audiovisual media industry after 3 years of intensive learning in an international study-environment.
