Peter Barta, a visiting professor from the University of Surrey, UK, will
deliver a paper entitled "Does Post-Soviet Mean Post-European? Shifts in
Cultural Paradigms over the Past 25 Years". The lecture will be held in
auditorium A242 (Tallinn University Astra building) on Friday, 19 April at
12:00.The talk will develop the ideas published in his recently edited
volume "The Fall of the Iron Curtain and the Culture of Europe" (2013).

(European People's Party), University of Bologna).Peter Barta is
Professor in Comparative Literature and Cultural Studies at the University
of Surrey, UK. He is the author and editor of a number of books on Russian
and Comparative Literature, including "The Contexts of Aleksander
Sergeevich Pushkin" (1988), "Bely, Joyce and Doblin: Peripatetics in the
City Novel" (1996), "Russian Literature and the Classics" (1996),
"Metamorphoses in Russian Modernism" (2000), "Gender and Sexuality in
Russian Civilization" (2001), "Racism in Russian Culture" (2012).For
