Council tasks

The Institute Council:

  • adopts the Institute's development plan based on the University's development plan and submits it to the Senate for approval;
  • may make proposals to the Senate for the approval of the Institute's academic directions;
  • adopts the Institute's draft budget in accordance with the conditions and procedure set out in the financial regulations;
  • approves the Institute's action plan;
  • evaluates the Institute's activity report;
  • adopts and submits curricula to the Senate for approval and approves continuing education programs;
  • may make proposals to the Senate for the establishment or termination of the Institute's research or development center;
  • may make proposals to the rector regarding the statutes of the institute's research or development center;
  • elects the director on the basis of and in accordance with the procedure provided for in the legislation regulating employment relationships;
  • may make proposals to the senate regarding the establishment and liquidation of the positions of professors and senior researchers;
  • submits its opinion on candidates for professorship to the Senate;
  • elects the regular teaching and research staff of the institute, except for professors, on the basis and in accordance with the procedure provided for in legislation;
  • may elect honorary members of the institute;
  • may form subcommittees and advisory bodies;
  • may make proposals to the Senate regarding amendments to the institute's statutes;
  • decides on other issues arising from the statutes and other legislation.
