Igor Mikeshin's talk is entitled
"If you marry, you do not sin"*: The Construction of Sex and Family in Russian Evangelical Christianity
Abstract:
My paper focuses on the Russian Baptist Church as a peculiar case of an Evangelical community. The Russian Baptists are specifically focused on the text of the Bible as an inerrant and sufficient source for faith and practice. I aim to disclose their hermeneutics in relation to the practices of doing gender and constructing family values in the wider context of theology and anthropology.
